Barbara Pedersen is a representational oil painter based on Vancouver Island.  She was born and raised near Vancouver on the west coast of Canada close to the ocean and rain forests of BC.

Barbara received a Commercial Art Diploma from Douglas College.

Studying at Watts Atelier in California provided an invaluable experience, that helped shape her expression of art.

Inspiration starts with a Plein air painting using a limited palette, where rhythm, patterns, light and values come together to create a small part of the landscape experience.

Barbara continues on a self-guided path where her work is collected throughout Canada and the USA.
