Barbara Pedersen is a representational oil painter born on the west coast of BC.  Her art revolves around a skillful play with colour and light, using a limited palette to create captivating compositions.

With a passion for plein air painting, Pedersen translates the natural beauty of her surroundings onto canvas showcasing a unique blend of technique and inspiration derived from the scenic landscapes of western Canada.

Barbara’s predominantly self-taught approach, combined with a formal education from Douglas College and Watts Atelier underscores the depth and diversity of her artistic evolution.

Barbara’s artistic influences draw from the rich tradition of the 19th and 20th-century impressionist masters, with a notable emphasis on figures like Edgar Payne and the renowned Group of Seven, shaping her unique artistic perspective.
